BTS “Dynamite” has received the RIAJ diamond certification. This is a historic moment since it is the first time for a foreign artist to win the award.
Also, “Dynamite” is the second drop of all time to land the diamond certification, with Yoasobi’s “Yoru ni Kakeru” being the first one.
The latest batch of the certifications was announced on February 28. According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), a song is a certified diamond on crossing 500 million streams. This system of certifications was announced in 2020 to award the titles based on their online streams.
Besides landing diamond certification, BTS also received platinum certification with “Life Goes On,” which is awarded on recording 100 million streams, whilst BTS’s “Anpanman” received gold certification for surpassing 50 million streams.
Congratulations, BTS!
